For many patients, vaping is a preferred method of medicating. The batteries and cartridges are often small, slender, and strong, making it easy to forget that they are also delicate. If you’ve encountered issues with batteries or cartridges, or simply want to avoid them, here are a few tips on how to properly care for your set up.
Cartridges should always be unscrewed from the battery when not in use. This eliminates the possibility of a leaky cartridge ripping the inside out of the battery when pulled apart.
Don’t leave cartridges or batteries in extreme heat or cold. The car is not a good storage spot if you want your products in optimal condition.
Don’t charge your battery for more than an hour/hour and a half at a time. Much like your phone or computer, batteries should only be charged until they are at full capacity.
It’s better to charge batteries off of computers or car outlets rather than walls. The higher power being emitted from walls can lower your battery life in the long run.
When smoking your vape pen, feather your hits (unless otherwise instructed) so the heating mechanism doesn’t get too hot. Oil that’s been overheated can change in color and flavor. Using too high of a heat can also burn your oil and ruin a cartridge.
Taking proper care of your vape set up can elongate its life span and improve your medicating experience.
